![]() ![]() ![]() Just go with one of your pet project ideas for a website (that ideally has many pages and some dynamic 'chunks' of content you can move around and put together on the backend) Middleware makes things a bit more complicated and there are better resources out there to teach about it than I am able to, but it's really just a thing that runs in between when your Express server receives a request (accepting the same request and response objects), and then either calls a special callback function (typically called next) or errors. So to catch a GET request to /index, you write: app.get("/index", function(request, response) ) There's also app.set() but you use that a few times when you're configuring your Express instance, or copy it from somewhere and basically never think about it again.Īnd that's about it. So the thing about Express is: It doesn't do a whole heck of a lot on its own. ![]()

![]() ![]() Running the command in terminal produces the following GUI: Inside Xcode (5.0) For earlier versions, continue to use the in-app download in Xcode. Or via terminal (from the release docs): The Command Line Developer Tools package can be installed on demand using " xcode-select -install” and the installed tools will be automatically updated using Software Update. ![]() This requires signing in with a developer account. Instead they must be downloaded from the Apple Developer Tools site. With Xcode 5.0.1 and Mavericks 10.9 the command line tool is no longer available through Xcode. The solution is to download directly, see "Separate Download" below. ![]() In late February 2014 the command started only displaying help. In early February 2014 xcode-select -install has been reporting that "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server". So, try xcode-select -install and if that does not work download as described below. Xcode-select -install worked with version 2333, failed with version 2003. (also works with Xcode 5.1.1 + OSX 10.10) In this case xcode-select -reset works as pointed by akozin.Xcode 5.1 and OSX 10.9. You may get an error message: "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server". I found the solution in this question, Command Line Tools not working. Sudo xcode-select -switch /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools sudo xcode-select -switch /Applications/Xcode.app As a follow on step, you may need to reset the path to Xcode if you have several versions or want the command line tools to run without Xcode. The problem is that one needs to explicitly agree to the license agreement. If the above alone doesn't do it, then also run: sudo xcode-select -reset You do not need Xcode, you can install only the Command Line Tools here, it is about 130 MB (600 MB as of Xcode v14.1). (The popped Window may be behind other windows.) ![]() This will pop a dialogue box, Select "Install", and it will download and install the Command Line Tools package and fix the problem.
